MARKETS / VALUATION

Market Valuation Engine

Exploring market conditions, valuation, and the signals that shape risk and expectations.

01 / CENTRAL RESEARCH QUESTION

“How can macro liquidity conditions, sector leadership, valuation expansion, and positioning heat be organized into a disciplined market-structure read without mistaking momentum for fundamental durability?”

02 — 03 / CONTEXT & APPROACH

Framing the problem before building the system.

02 / RESEARCH CONTEXT

Market prices move at the intersection of liquidity conditions, narrative repricing, and underlying business performance. Looking at valuation multiples in isolation often misses why capital is concentrating in specific sectors or when a strong narrative is beginning to stretch positioning.

The Market Valuation Engine was built to structure that reading process: starting from the macro liquidity environment, narrowing into sector relative strength and breadth participation, and finally inspecting individual company valuation stretch and chase risk.

03 / ANALYTICAL APPROACH

Rather than generating automated buy or sell triggers, the framework separates signal observation, narrative context, and risk diagnostics.

It evaluates whether leadership is supported by broad participation or concentrated in a narrow group of names, and compares current forward valuation expansion against historical trend baselines.

04 / METHODOLOGY & STRUCTURAL LAYERS

How signals are organized and interpreted.

TRANSPARENT RULE & PROXY ARCHITECTURE

Layer 01 · Global Liquidity & Cost of Capital

Rates, USD direction, volatility, and carry conditions

OBSERVED SIGNALS & INPUTS

US 10Y Treasury yield thresholds, 2Y front-rate proxies, DXY 3M trend, VIX regime, JPY carry sensitivity

ANALYTICAL ROLE

Establishes whether the broader environment favors selective quality, defensive positioning, or broad risk appetite.

Layer 02 · Sector Positioning & Rotation

Relative strength and breadth across equity sectors

OBSERVED SIGNALS & INPUTS

1M / 3M / 6M relative strength vs SPY, sector PE expansion proxies, breadth participation

ANALYTICAL ROLE

Distinguishes durable institutional leadership from narrow, crowded narrative spikes.

Layer 03 · Company Quality & Valuation Stretch

Fundamental momentum vs multiple expansion

OBSERVED SIGNALS & INPUTS

Revenue acceleration, margin trajectory, free cash flow quality, forward PE expansion

ANALYTICAL ROLE

Checks whether price appreciation is backed by operating improvements or purely multiple rerating.

Layer 04 · Positioning & Overheat Diagnostics

Chase risk and extension from trend baselines

OBSERVED SIGNALS & INPUTS

6M price momentum, distance from 200-day moving average, narrative heat stage

ANALYTICAL ROLE

Flags when a strong thesis faces elevated near-term valuation and positioning vulnerability.

05 / SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE

Pipeline & implementation boundary.

A modular Python command-line and embedded console research system that pulls market and fundamental series via Yahoo Finance, applies transparent threshold rules across four analytical layers, and outputs structured diagnostic commentary.

DATA INPUTS

  • —Macro benchmark series (US10Y, DXY, VIX, SPY)
  • —Sector ETF proxies (SMH, XLK, XLU, XLE, XLF)
  • —Company-level price history, moving averages, and forward valuation multiples

EXECUTION SEQUENCE

  1. 01.Ingest macro and benchmark time series with timeout and fallback protection
  2. 02.Compute multi-horizon relative strength (1M, 3M, 6M) and trend extension metrics
  3. 03.Evaluate sector breadth and valuation expansion rules
  4. 04.Generate layered console report separating regime read, sector leadership, and company overheat risk

06 / SYSTEM OUTPUT STRUCTURE

Analytical schema & diagnostic surface.

Rather than presenting fabricated historical backtests, the specimen below documents the actual diagnostic structure generated by the system.

MARKET INTELLIGENCE SYSTEM // LAYERED DIAGNOSTIC READSCHEMA SPECIMEN

Operating BoundaryDescriptive research commentary only; not trade instructions
All diagnostic outputs are designed to clarify what has to go right to justify current prices, separating business quality from crowding risk.

07 / LIMITATIONS & EPISTEMIC BOUNDARIES

What the model does not claim to know.

Every independent research tool operates under data constraints and simplifying assumptions. Documenting those boundaries explicitly is part of the work.

LIMITATION 01

Full macro liquidity depth (such as M2 money supply, reverse repo balances, and credit spreads) requires external data feeds beyond standard Yahoo Finance series.

LIMITATION 02

Forward valuation ratios and quality proxies rely on public market data feeds that can lag or contain reporting inconsistencies.

LIMITATION 03

Outputs are structured research commentary intended to frame further investigation, not calibrated return forecasts or investment advice.
